The AFI Enhanced Television (ETV) Workshop was an exclusive production-based environment that provided television producers with the opportunity to work with world-class technology innovators and designers. These technologists and designers served as mentors to create a prototype for, what was in 2002, the next generation of digital television. The AFI program was used to identify and address issues that could influence and accelerate the development of ETV.
KENTRO Media was picked to be the technologist mentor for the PBS show, Matters of Race, where we helped to design and develop an interactive DVD game. The game was created for the concept of elegant degradation. The TV viewing experience is always in tact, however depending on the type of end user’s play back device, the TV viewing experience is enhanced with varying levels on interactivity.
